The International Congress of Parasitology (ICOPA) is the congress of the World Federation of Parasitologists and takes place every 4 years in different locations around the world. Drs. Momar Ndao and Martin Olivier were actively promoting Montreal's candidacy for ICOPA XVI, as co-chairs of the local organizing committee, in Copenhagen during ICOPA XV. 

It’s now official, ICOPA XVI will be held in Montreal in 2026 from August 15 to August 21 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal in the hearth of Montreal! The successful application of Montreal was announced during the closing ceremony of the event. The proposed theme for the congress is “Parasitic infections in a changing world”. ICOPA is the largest congress in the field and will reunites around 2000 delegates from around the world. In addition to this announcement, it worth mentioning that Dr. Momar Ndao, member of the Executive Board of the World Federation of Parasitologists since 2014, has been nominated the 1st Vice-President of the federation.
